8:00 "Who are you?"

8:05 Read Genesis 1:26-27.

  1. What does it mean to be created in God's image?
  2. How should this affect the way we view ourselves?
  3. How should it affect our attitudes toward others?
  4. So, if we are created in the image of God, does that mean we are righteous like God?
    • We were; we chose to give that up; we will be again, through Christ.

8:10 Read Romans 3:9-18, 23; Romans 7:8,15-18; John 8:34.

8:20 Read Romans 3:21-24; Galatians 5:24.

  1. What has happened to our sinful nature?
    • Read Colossians 3:3; 2 Corinthians 5:17.
  2. Where now is our sinful nature?
    • Gone! Dead!
  3. Can this be true if we keep on sinning?

8:25 Read 1 John 5:11-12.

  1. What is the source of our life?
  2. How should this realization influence our day-to-day goals and decisions?

8:30 Read Hebrews 10:10,14.

  1. What is our state now?
  2. How can the writer say in one breath that "we have been made holy," and in the next that we "are being made holy"?
  3. Would you say that you view yourself as someone who has "been made holy" and "perfect forever"?

8:40 Read Philippians 3:12-14.

  1. How does this relate to the previous passage?
  2. What should be our attitude and focus in life?

8:45 Read Galatians 3:26-4:7; Ephesians 2:6.

  1. Who are you?
    • A son of God.
  2. How can this knowledge affect your view of your role in your Father's Creation?
